Indieville.com:
Susan Hyatt (formerly of Pillbox) fronts Stimulator, a singer/instrumentalist duo obsessed with an interesting new wave hybrid style. They sport a glossy, inventively fashionable look, and create tight, retro rock tunes filled with juicy riffs and marketable, infectious hooks. This take on electro-rock could probably garner some mainstream attention if given the right publicity - considering Stimulator's high production values and accessible sound, radio play would not be out of the question.
Over this album's duration, we get a nice look at Stimulator's unique sound - the Blondie / No Doubt influences of "In My System" and "78 Stimulator" are refreshingly new, while "Let's Hook Up" and "On Top of the World" sound like an eighties-influenced version of Garbage. Lead singer Hyatt has a very Debbie Harry-esque voice, which adds to this disc's accessibility.
Overall, this album makes for a glossy, infectious slice of 80s-style modern rock.
